Sullivan County Veterans Day Events 2024

Friday, November 8

HURLEYVILLE: 2 p.m. – Service at Morningside Park on County Route 52 (Brickman Road) in Hurleyville. All are invited.

Saturday, November 9

WOODBOURNE: 1 p.m. – The 26th Annual Veterans Day Parade hosted by the Woodbourne Fire Department #1 at 355 Fire House Road, Woodbourne. Line up at 12 p.m., parade kicks off at 1 p.m. Ceremony to follow with refreshments.

Monday, November 11

BETHEL: 11 a.m. – Sgt. Andrew Brucher-Bailey Richman VFW Post 5499 will be conducting Veterans Day Services at the Veterans Park (Bethel Town Square) on Route 55 in Kauneonga Lake. All veterans and the public are invited. Please arrive by 10:45 a.m.

ELDRED: 11 a.m. – The Tusten-Highland-Lumberland VFW Post 6427 and the Sylvan-Liebla American Legion Post 1363 will hold a Veterans Day service at Heroes Park in Eldred, in honor of all veterans.  Following the service, refreshments will be served, and they will have their annual raffle drawing.

GRAHAMSVILLE: 11 a.m. – The Grahamsville Rural Cemetery will host a Flag-Raising Ceremony, followed by a ceremony at the Neversink Town Hall, both on Route 55 in Grahamsville.

LIBERTY: 5-7 p.m. – Spaghetti and meatballs dinner at the Liberty Elks Lodge, 1545 Darbee Lane in Liberty. Veterans eat free, all others $14.

LONG EDDY: 11 a.m. – The Allan Milk Memorial VFW Post 7276 and Auxiliary, and the Callicoon VFW Post 5808 will honor all who served with a luncheon, basket raffle, 50/50 and t-shirts, hosted at the Long Eddy Firehouse, 4 Church Street, Long Eddy.

MONTICELLO: 9 a.m. – The Landfield Avenue Synagogue, 18 Landfield Avenue in Monticello, invites all to attend their Ceremony, which will honor all Veterans, Law Enforcement, EMS, and Fire Services.  This year’s honoree is Vietnam veteran and Town of Bethel Councilman Bernard Cohen. Kiddush (midday meal) to be served immediately following, and you need not be Jewish to attend.

MONTICELLO:  10:30 a.m. – Ceremony at the Sullivan County Government Center (in the lobby), Monticello, including NY State Police and Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard with American Legion Post 73 and local first responders; public invited.

SUMMITVILLE: 9 a.m. – Summitville Firehouse, 3978 Route 209, Summitville, will host a service conducted by the Edward M. Maier VFW Post 4947.

WURTSBORO: 8 a.m. – Service held by the Edward M. Maier Memorial VFW Post 4947 at 26 VFW Road, Wurtsboro followed by an 11 a.m. service at the Ellenville Elks Lodge at 50 State Route 55, Napanoch.

WURTSBORO: 11 a.m. – American Legion Post 1266 will be holding a service at the Veterans Park, which is located on the corner of Sullivan Street and 3rd Street.
