Come Play Games at Fort Delaware!

Narrowsburg, NY – Bring the whole family to enjoy a day (or two or three or four!) of hopscotch, nine pins, jigplatter, cup-and-ball, and more at Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History in Narrowsburg this July 7-10!

Don’t know what those are? Even more reason to go! Authentically dressed re-enactors will guide you and your children in the rules and history of each colonial-era game, then set you free to play alone or in groups. And once you’ve mastered each one – or at least had a whole lot of fun! – those same games and toys will be available inside the Fort’s gift shop!

“While we tend to think pioneers just put their noses to the grindstone every day, they took time to relax and play games, too,” Sullivan County Director of Parks, Recreation and Beautification Brian Scardefield notes. “Generations of kids have kept these games alive for centuries, and we’ve preserved them at the Fort, too – not just to view the past but to actually participate in it!”

The entirety of Fort Delaware is a living museum, and all its exhibits, re-enactors and regular activities will be in operation for the July 7-10 weekend of fun and games. Summer hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, and admission is just $7 for each adult, $4 for each child (ages 5-14), $5 for seniors (62 and over), and FREE for kids under 5! Or grab a Family Pass (two adults and up to three children) for $20.

Fort Delaware is located at 6615 Route 97 in Narrowsburg, a picturesque, Delaware Riverside hamlet with plenty of dining and shopping choices.
