Liberty, NY – As part of changes in Sullivan County’s Administrative Code approved by legislators, the Division of Health & Family Services has been renamed to the Division of Health & Human Services. Also, the Department of Family Services (DFS) has become the Department of Social Services (DSS), while Public Health Services has become the Department of Public Health.
“These name changes better align us with New York State’s office naming system and are intended to eliminate confusion for the many State agencies with whom we regularly interact,” Division of Health & Human Services Commissioner John Liddle explained. “No staff or program changes will occur as a result, although certain employees’ titles – like mine – have been altered to reflect the new office names.”
