Liberty, NY – New York State has announced a second Emergency HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) benefit is available, beginning February 27.
“The eligibility for this benefit is nearly the same as for the first Emergency HEAP benefit,” notes Sullivan County Deputy Social Services Commissioner Giselle Steketee. “Applicants must have exhausted – or have unavailable to them – both the original Regular benefit and the first Emergency HEAP benefit.”
Applicants for the Emergency HEAP benefit must apply over the phone (845-807-0142) or in person. In-person applications will be accepted at the Department of Social Services, but please call ahead to confirm.
