Liberty, NY – The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force has made the following arrests:
- June 28, 2018 – Rodney E. Bound, 38, of Liberty was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole. After a member of the task force observed Bound purchasing alcohol in violation of his parole conditions, a joint investigation with NYS Parole was initiated that resulted in Bound’s arrest. Bound is currently in Sullivan County Jail awaiting a parole hearing.
- June 29, 2018 – Willie Reynolds, 46, of Liberty was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole. The Sullivan County Fraud Task Force, in conjunction with New York State Parole Officers, were conducting curfew checks when they discovered that Reynolds was in violation of his curfew. A warrant was issued, resulting in his subsequent arrest and incarceration.
- July 11, 2018 – James Garris, 56, of Loch Sheldrake was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole. After Task Force members observed Garris with a suspicious vehicle, a joint investigation with NYS Parole was initiated that revealed Garris obtained and was operating a motor vehicle without authorization from Parole and had weapons in the vehicle. Garris is currently in Sullivan County Jail awaiting a parole hearing.
- July 11, 2018 – Russell Jackson, 32, of White Sulphur Springs was arrested and charged with one Felony count of Filing a False Instrument in the 1st and one Misdemeanor count of Theft of Service. It is alleged that Jackson, a parolee, stole $107.90 in public-funded transportation by using Medicaid-funded medical transportation to his parole meeting in South Fallsburg and for other non-medical purposes. Jackson was arraigned in the Town of Liberty and remanded to Sullivan County Jail on $2,500 bail.
- July 23, 2018 – Brenda Miller, 65, of Woodridge was arrested for the Class A Misdemeanor of Misuse of Food Stamps. It is alleged that Miller stole $101.67 in food stamps that didn’t belong to her. Miller was issued an appearance ticket and released pending a future court date in the Town of Liberty.
- July 23, 2018 – Dante A. Vandunk, 45, of Swan Lake was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole. A joint investigation between the Task Force and NYS Parole revealed that Vandunk was with another parolee that he was not authorized to associate with. Vandunk is currently in Sullivan County Jail awaiting a parole hearing.
- July 24, 2018 – Sabrina Williams, 23, of Callicoon was arrested and charged with the Class E Felony of Filing a False Instrument in the 1st and Class A Misdemeanor of Theft of Service. It is alleged that Williams stole $441.24 in public-funded transportation by using Medicaid-funded medical transportation to buy illegal drugs. Williams was issued an appearance ticket and released pending a future court date in the Town of Liberty.
