Free Senior Event Addresses Fire Safety

Monticello, NY - Fire safety and its impact on older adults will be addressed at the annual Senior Safety Day on Wednesday, October 18. 

Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC)’s Caregiver Resource Center offers this free event at the Ted Stroebele Recreation Center on 10 Jefferson Street in Monticello. Registration, a continental breakfast, and a health fair begin at 8:30 am. The Office for the Aging (OFA)’s Annual Public Hearing begins at 9:00 am, followed by scheduled programming by guest speakers at 10:30 am. Lunch and door prize drawings will conclude the event at 12:00 pm.

8:30 am | Continental Breakfast & Health Fair Start

10:30 am | Guest Speakers:
- John Hauschild, SC Fire Coordinator 53-1 "Home Fire Safety for Older Adults"
- Kelly Soller, OFA Aging Services Specialist/HIICAP “Medicare 101”
12:00 pm | Lunch and Door Prize Drawings
