Statement on Las Vegas Mass Shooting

Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Legislature and Sullivan County Manager Josh Potosek today released the following statement on the mass shooting this week in Las Vegas, Nevada:

“Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the hundreds of victims and their families involved in the horrific shooting in Las Vegas. A night of joy and fun suddenly transformed into a senseless tragedy of almost unimaginable proportions. But while our hearts are broken, our spirit is not, for on that awful night, we also witnessed the best in our citizenry: emergency responders and civilians alike helping one another, police officers and medical personnel exhibiting fearless professionalism amidst the chaos, and organizations tirelessly collaborating to tend to the wounded and dead. While we fervently pray and hope never to see this kind of carnage again, the resulting unity of purpose and compassion has potently reminded us of the strong bond of shared humanity, and the need to constantly cherish good people doing good deeds.”
