Sullivan County DPW Auctioning Off Surplus Equipment, Vehicles

Monticello, NY - Bidders are welcome from now through August 28 on approximately 230 lots of vehicles, heavy equipment (yellow iron), light/medium/heavy-duty trucks, power tools and assorted parts up for auction by the Sullivan County Division of Public Works (DPW).

“This is an opportunity to score great deals on cars, trucks, excavators, bulldozers, ATVs, tractors, plows, wiring, hoses, chainsaws, roofing materials, augers, etc.,” says District 7 Legislator and Public Works Committee Chair Joe Perrello. “There’s plenty to pick through – we even have the proverbial kitchen sink!”

Bidding on all lots starts at just $1, rising in increments (with only a 10% buyer’s premium), so this is an auction most anyone can afford. Some items are lightly used or even unused, and all are being sold as-is through Absolute Auctions and Realty at aarauctions.com.

“For a ‘picker’ or a do-it-yourselfer, our auction offers a chance to find the right part or piece of equipment to finish a job for far less cost than buying new,” affirms Sullivan County Manager Josh Potosek. “And for those with older vehicles or machinery, this sale could provide an inexpensive but enormous array of hard-to-find supplies.”

Live previews are available, by appointment only, from Tuesday, August 15 through Thursday, August 17, and from Tuesday, August 22 through Thursday, August 24 between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Call John Schultz at 845-807-0297 to schedule.

The auction closes at 7 p.m. on August 28. Payment is due by Thursday, August 31 at 3 p.m. All lots are subject to seller approval. Invoices will be sent following approval of sale. Pickup will be available Tuesday, September 5 through Thursday, September 7 between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
