(Monticello, NY 11:30) - Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek and Sullivan County Fire Coordinator John Hauschild cautions Sullivan County residents following recent brush fires.
Following recent brush fires and illegal burns in all parts of Sullivan County this past week; Fire Coordinator Hauschild is urging residents to help prevent wildfires. Hauschild reminds everyone that there is a statewide ban on open burning through May 14 amid expected high temperatures. The burning ban in effect until mid-May will help protect both Sullivan County residents and first responders, as forecasted for the next several days we are looking at warm, dry, low humidity and windy conditions with little rain. Hauschild urges all residents to adhere to the burn ban.
