Monticello, NY – Want to find out how to save money on energy? Or what Sullivan County is doing to explore and invest in green technologies? It’s all to be found within the new Office of Sustainable Energy’s (OSE’s) pages on the Sullivan County website!
“We’re incredibly excited to debut our online offerings, which provide not just valuable information but useful documents and forms, staff biographies and links to other informative sites,” says Sustainability Coordinator Heather Brown. “Our goal is to encourage sustainable practices throughout Sullivan County, and our new website makes that easier than ever!”
Visit co.sullivan.ny.us, then select the dropdown menu under “I Want To … Find a Department.” Pick “Office of Sustainable Energy,” and then choose what you’re seeking from the (appropriately) green Office of Sustainable Energy box on the left:
- “Staff” gives you the experience and credentials of the three key members of OSE: Heather Brown, Carol Roig and Stephen Stuart, each of whom possess a unique set of talents but share a common friendliness and approachability
- “Sustainability Initiatives” provides a rundown of Sullivan County government’s energy-efficiency projects and policies
- “Climate Smart Communities Program” shows how far the County has come in being certified as a Climate Smart Community – and explains what that is
- “Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Reimbursement” details this new County incentive program for installing electric vehicle charging stations throughout the region
- “Resources” is just that: a collection of links and information on energy efficiency, electric vehicles and renewable energy, with several resources tailored just for farms and municipalities
- “Funding Opportunities” takes you to a comprehensive list of programs and incentives to cut down on the cost of installing and operating greener technologies
- “Documents and Forms” is a group of policies, forms and applications useful for residents, business owners and town/village leaders
