Stress and the Holidays
Stress is a common part of the holiday season for many people and can manifest in a number of ways such as physical, emotional and mental symptoms. Some common causes of holiday stress include financial concerns, gift-giving, unrealistic expectations, grief or loss or navigating family conflict. Here are some tips to help manage holiday stress, practice mindfulness, set limits, focus on what you can control, take deep breaths, eat and drink responsibly and ask for help.

"Sullivan Walks" Keep Walking 2 Weeks to Go!
This Thursday November 21, Celebrates the American Cancer Society's, "Great American Smoke Out" initiative. Public Health Services encourages and supports those who smoke to; "Take A Break" from smoking. During the week "Exchange Boxes" can be found at the entrances of the Sullivan County Government buildings, (both campuses).We encourage smokers to exchange their smokes or vapes for a stress ball, Quit kit or another item you may find within the box to help with cessation on the next cigarette break. Perhaps smokers will try to quit Cold Turkey!
