Monticello, NY – Sullivan County will thank residents who recycle on Earth Day weekend (April 21-22, 2018) by giving away FREE TREES.
Any resident who recycles at County-operated transfer stations this weekend will be offered a free seedling tree as a thank-you for recycling. The donated trees will be handed out starting at 7:45 a.m. during regular transfer stations hours, while supplies last. One tree per family, please.
The Sullivan County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling is pleased to support sustainability by encouraging the 3Rs: Reducing waste generated, Reusing items that have service life remaining, and Recycling items that cannot be reused or recycled.
“Planting a tree further helps our environmental sustainability by stabilizing the soil, cleansing the air, and keeping the Sullivan County Catskills clean and green,” said Public Works Committee Chairman and District 7 Legislator Joe Perrello.
