Sixth Annual Eileen Haworth Weil Scholarship Brunch Coming April 15

Monticello, NY – Eileen Haworth Weil was a tireless warrior for peace, human rights and environmental justice. For the sixth year, the Sullivan County Human Rights Commission is sponsoring the Annual Eileen Haworth Weil Scholarship Brunch to be held in Eileen’s memory. This event celebrates Eileen’s life, honors those who continue in her tradition, and awards a scholarship to students who have demonstrated an interest in human rights.

The scholarship is open to graduating Sullivan County Community College students who will pursue a four-year degree.

The gathering will honor Martin Colavito, Bruce Ferguson and Elaine Williams for their dedication to human rights and environmental justice. Roland Ward, one of the original members of the Human Rights Commission, will also be honored.

The Brunch will be held on Sunday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Eagle’s Nest in Bloomingburg. Tickets are $50 per person. For information or to make reservations, e-mail Judy Balaban at work4tolerance@aol.com.
