Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Human Rights Commission is seeking two new members to fill vacancies on its Board of Commissioners.
Commissioners are volunteers who meet once a month in public session and oversee the operations and policies of the Human Rights Commission. They are interviewed and chosen by their fellow commissioners to serve a three-year term on the board, subject to official appointment by the Sullivan County Legislature.
The Commission is seeking Sullivan County residents who have a passion for human rights and volunteerism. The Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sullivan County Government Center’s Hearing Room in Monticello (next meeting is February 8). Meetings are open to the public.
