Organizational Meeting of the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation Tuesday, Feb 14 at 8:30AM

(Monticello, NY) - There will be an Organizational Meeting of the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 8:30AM in the Legislative Committee Room, 100 North Street, Monticello, New York. The purpose of the meeting is to adopt bylaws, elect officers, establish sub-committees, and to perform other business as required of the Board.

Special Meeting and Annual Meeting Calendar for the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation

(Monticello, NY) - There will be a special meeting of the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation held on Thursday, March 2nd at 8AM in the Legislative Committee Room, 100 North Street, Monticello, New York. The purpose of the meeting is to continue business from the Organizational meeting held on February 14, 2017.

County Recovering From Storm Damage – Town of Lumberland Community Center Open as Warming Center

Monticello, N.Y. –Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek has announced that the County is recovering from the storm damage caused by Saturday’s storm.  There are power outages across the County.  NYSEG, Central Hudson, and Orange and Rockland Utilities are working to restore power.

In response to localized power outages the Town of Lumberland has activated their Town Hall and Municipal Building as a warming center.  The warming center is located at 1054 Proctor Road, Glen Spey, New York.  The Town can be reached at phone number 845-856-8600 extension #1221.

Public Health Department and Public Safety Officials To Conduct Emergency Preparedness Drill Feb 28

(Liberty, NY 4:30pm) - An emergency preparedness exercise will take place at the Sullivan County Emergency Services Training Facility on Tuesday, February 28, from 9 am to 2 pm. Sullivan County Public Health Services, public safety and emergency preparedness personnel will exercise key parts of the county’s Health Emergency Operations Plan by simulating responses to a hypothetical influenza pandemic impacting county residents.

Immigration Rights Discussion with Human Rights Commission, March 9th

(Monticello, NY) - Ms Guisela Marroquín. of NYCLU, is scheduled to present a discussion on Immigrant Rights to the Human Rights Commission on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 6:15 pm.

Guisela Marroquín is the regional organizer for the Long Island and Lower Hudson Valley chapters of the New York Civil Liberties Union. Ms. Marroquín leads statewide work in NYCLU’s Justice for Farmworkers Campaign and carries out our educational and police reform priorities in both regions.

Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council To Meet, March 8th at 3pm

(Liberty, NY 12:10pm) - The Sullivan County Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council (LEICC) will meet Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 3PM at the Sullivan County Shared Clinic Facility in Liberty. Early Intervention (EI) provides in-home services like physical, occupational and speech therapy to children with disabilities and or developmental delays.
