(Monticello, NY 3:45pm) - Sullivan County Legislature has announced that the Sullivan County’s Annual Litter Pluck Event will be extended through May 21, 2017 due to the inclement weather we have been experiencing. The litter pluck was originally scheduled to take place from Saturday, May 6, 2017 through Sunday, May 14, 2017. All school and community groups, as well as private citizens are urged to participate.

(Monticello, NY 4:00pm) - The Sullivan County Legislature unanimously voted today, at their 2:00pm full board meeting, to enter into a retainer agreement with the law firm of Simmons Hanly Conroy, LLC to commence a lawsuit on behalf of the County of Sullivan against various manufacturers of prescription opiates.

“The time is long overdue to hold the pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in creating the opioid addiction crisis,” stated Alan Sorensen, Majority Leader and District 9 Legislator.

(Monticello, NY) - There will be a Special Meeting of the Legislature for Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 9:10AM in the Legislative Chambers, 100 North Street, Monticello, New York. The purpose of the meeting is to  authorize an agreement with NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services which has a deadline for submission of June 2, 2017.
