Lake Superior State Park consists of 1,409 acres and features Lake Superior and Chestnut Ridge Pond.
The park is operated by the County of Sullivan pursuant to a Cooperative Agreement with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission.

The County operates two areas of the park:
Lake Superior's Beach Area (seasonal fee) features a swimming area, sand beach, picnic areas with grills, group picnic pavilions (fee), kayak, canoe, rowboat and pedal boat rentals, public boat launch (electric motors only), vending machines, restrooms, shower/changing area, fishing (New York State DEC fishing license required), volleyball court, and playground (ages 5-12).
The beach area operates for swimming on weekends and holidays from Memorial Weekend through June; hours of operation those weekends are 10:00am - 6:00pm. Daily beach operation commences towards the end of June through Labor Day. The daily beach hours are 9:00am - 7:00pm Friday - Sunday and 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Thursday, unless otherwise stated.
The park grounds are open Dawn - Dusk.
There is no camping or camp sites.
All dogs must be leashed.

There is a per person fee to enter the beach area during beach operating hours:
Day Pass: $5.00 per person
Season Pass
Sullivan County Resident - Senior (Age 62+): $15.00 per person
Sullivan County Resident - Age 3-61: $20.00 per person
Non-County Resident - Age 3+: $40.00 per person
Children Under 3 Years Old: FREE
Veterans who present a valid ID issued through the Sullivan County Return the F.A.V.O.R. program: FREE
Golden Park Program: NYS Senior Citizens 62 & over: FREE (Weekdays ONLY excluding Holidays)
Boat Rentals: $10.00 for one hour, $20.00 Security Deposit per boat; $5.00 per additional 15 minutes.
Boat options: Pedal Boats, Kayaks - Single and Double person, Canoes, and Rowboats. Boat rentals are First Come - First Serve. Renting boats ends 2 hours before closing and boats must be returned 1 hour before closing.
Boat renters must be 17 years old or older. There must be 17 years old or older on the boat. The minimum age for a child to be on our boats is 2 years old.

Hunting/Fishing/Recreation/Camping:
The entire park is open year-round. Hunting is permitted ONLY for Whitetail Deer, Bear, and Turkey in designated areas (New York State DEC hunting license required). Fishing/ice fishing (electric motors only), hiking, and sledding are permitted at the park. Camping is not permitted. Click here for the specific hunting regulations.
