What's the New COVID Shot, and How Do You Find It?

Liberty, NY – Sullivan County Public Health wants to cut through any confusion regarding the latest COVID vaccine, which is now being rolled out.

“Most people can still get a COVID-19 vaccine for free,” affirms Public Health Director Karen Holden. “If you have health insurance, most plans will cover COVID-19 vaccines at no cost, although you may need to use an approved, in-network pharmacy or healthcare facility. Check with your insurance provider.”

Free Welding Course Available

Liberty, NY – Following the success of a construction trades course earlier this year, Sullivan County’s Center for Workforce Development (CWD) and Sullivan BOCES have teamed up again to offer another free course – this time in welding – to up to 10 local residents.

“I thank the Legislature for devoting funding to a second initiative to provide local workers with practical, career-building skills,” said CWD Director Loreen Gebelein. “Graduates of this program will earn certification in Basic Welding and be immediately employable.”

Sullivan Welcomes New Emergency Services Training Coordinator

County Clerk Launches Free Alert Service

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County Clerk Russell Reeves is now providing a free service to help property owners protect one of their most valuable assets. With Fraud Alert, anyone can sign up to receive email alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under their name.

“This service provides an easy way for homeowners to have peace of mind,” said Reeves.

Office for the Aging to Be Closed Wednesday, September 20

Monticello, NY – The Office for the Aging will be closed on Wednesday, September 20 just for that day, reopening on the 21st.

“Our entire staff is needed to help coordinate our annual luncheon for our Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) participants, which will be held that day,” explained Office for the Aging Director Lise-Anne Deoul. “We apologize for any inconvenience, but we very much want this event to be memorable and special for our volunteers and their families.”
