County, Towns and Villages Continue Distributing Test Kits

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County continues to work closely with towns, villages and schools to ensure COVID-19 at-home test kits reach as many people as possible.

“Over the weekend, we took possession of more than 5,000 kits,” Community Resources Commissioner Laura Quigley explained. “We’ve been distributing them to local officials since yesterday, and I’m happy to say many have already reached the hands of local residents.”

Kits are free and contain one test apiece. Supplies are limited and are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Warming Centers Open Tonight

Monticello, NY –Sullivan County will keep its two warming shelters open tonight in Liberty and Monticello:

  • United Methodist Church, 170 North Main Street, Liberty
  • Ted Stroebele Recreation Center, 2 Jefferson Street, Monticello

These facilities will be open to anyone from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. PLEASE NOTE: Masks are required due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

Warming Centers Open Friday Night Through Monday Night

Monticello, NY – Due to dangerous wind chills in the coming days, Sullivan County plans to open its two warming shelters tonight in Liberty and Monticello, continuing through the night of Monday, January 17:

  • United Methodist Church, 170 North Main Street, Liberty
  • Ted Stroebele Recreation Center, 2 Jefferson Street, Monticello

These facilities will be open to anyone from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday, January 14, Saturday, January 15, Sunday, January 16 and Monday, January 17. PLEASE NOTE: Masks are required due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

COVID-19 Test Report Portal Opens

Liberty, NY – To meet exponentially rising demand for COVID-19 isolation and quarantine affirmation/release forms, Sullivan County Public Health Services today debuted a new test reporting portal for public use.

“In collaboration with our Information Technology Services team, we’ve developed a way for everyone to quickly and easily get the form they need to prove they have been or are isolating or quarantining,” Public Health Director Nancy McGraw affirmed.

County Acquires 15,000 More KN95 Masks for Distribution

Monticello, NY – Thanks to efforts by Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Farney, Sullivan County has acquired 15,000 more KN95 masks, in addition to the 34,500 it received from the State earlier this month.

As a result, Community Resources Commissioner Laura Quigley is pleased to announce that another drive-thru pick-up event has been scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, January 11 at the Transportation Building, 401 County Route 183 (Airport Road), Swan Lake, NY.
